Summer “Sikulik” Winnie Rose Laurel Myomick
Summer “Sikulik” Winnie Rose Laurel Myomick was born on June 23, 1998 to Frank B. and Justina D. Myomick in Nome, Alaska. She passed away at the age of 24 on January 17, 2023 in Wales, Alaska.
Summer grew up in St. Michael along with her parents and siblings. She graduated in 2017 and moved to Wales, Alaska shortly after to be with her partner, Clyde Ongtowasruk and together they had two children: Avatia and Clyde III.
Summer loved to go to camp Pikmiktalik, going boating, texting and calling her sisters, brothers and Eleanor. She loved to dress up: applying different nail polish and putting on make-up. She learned how to cook large amounts of food for her siblings and called it “mass production” in a teasing manner to her mom. She loved fry bread. She enjoyed taking pictures. She was very unique, she didn't crawl but instead stood up and started walking at the age of eight months and just started laughing. She was her dad’s “Baby Girl”. Gen said she was outgoing and full of spunk and always asking her for advice about being a mom and baby things.
She is survived by her daughter Avatia, age 3; her partner Clyde Ongtowasruk, Jr.; parents Frank and Justina Myomick; sisters Cassandra, Genevieve, and Andrea Myomick; brothers Davis, Frank III and Gregory; nieces Cheyenne, Raizya and Eve; Nephews Gus, Jr., Gerald, Lucas and Sam; maternal grandmother Natalia Akaran; maternal aunts Roseline Shane, Elsie Cheemuk, Ursula Akaran, Dorothy Lockwood, Nora and Maggie Akaran; maternal uncles Joseph, Elias Jr. and Daniel Akaran; and many cousins. Paternal aunts Virginia Shipton, Elizabeth Windisch, Anne Otten, Susie Otten and Paula Myomick. Paternal uncle Gabriel Myomick and many cousins.
She is joined in death with her son Clyde Ongtowasruk, III; preceded in death on her maternal side: grandfather Elias Akaran, Sr.; uncle Thomas Cheemuk, Sr.; cousins Rachel Wright, Johanna Cheemuk, Demitrius Shane, Johnny Prince, Sienna Lockwood, Mathias Lockwood, and Gracelynn Shelikoff. On her paternal side cousin Alex Otten, Jr.; uncles John Shipton and Alfred Myomick, Sr. grandparents William and Flora Myomick.
I miss you greatly. Rest peacefully, Baby Girl! Until we meet again.
