Rosemary Selma Lincoln
Rosemary Selma “Auntie Pun” Lincoln was born July 24, 1935 to Abraham and Lucy Lincoln in White Mountain, Alaska. She left us peacefully with family by her side, to be with the Lord on September 27, 2017.
Rosemary worked hard, cared for her boys and had such a laugh that came from her soul.
Rosemary attended school here in White Mountain up until the eighth grade, from there she babysat for many teachers including the Fugulbergs, Constantines and Pausts and later for many others in White Mountain.
She helped with Sunday School and the Church Christmas program for many years. Rosemary had a beautiful voice and was active with the choir. In QCC recently she was singing “Beyond the Stars, there’s a land Beyond the Stars,” her way of knowing she was going home.
In the late ‘60’s she started working with headstart with Kim Sweeny and continued on until she retired in January of ‘95 at the age of 60. Rosemary had a love for cooking and baking for her boys. She was active in Dorcas Daughters making mittens and socks and later active in Dorcas Ladies baking her delicious treats.
She spent many nights playing scrabble with her friend Velma Brown by gas lamp. She loved her Bingo nights.
After retirement she enjoyed summers at Camp Hammer cutting fish with her family. She helped her mother with picking berries, chura and cutting blubber from seals her sons caught. Her family and friends treasure all the many yarn socks she knitted. In her spare time she enjoyed her word search puzzles, and watching The Price is Right.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents Abraham and Lucy Lincoln, half-siblings Margaret Oksoktaruk and Ralph Lincoln; siblings Howard Lincoln, Ernest Lincoln, Lena Lincoln, William “Nutch” Lincoln, Robert “Honuck” Lincoln Sr.; sons Dennis and Dean Lincoln; nieces Joann and Pearl Oksoktaruk, Sharon and Esther Lincoln; and nephews John, Ernie, Frank and Bruce Oksoktaruk.
