Bernadette Ann Penetac
Our precious mother, Bernadette Ann Penetac, age 67, died on Saturday, December 19, 2020 while at home in Eagle River, Alaska.
She was born on January 28, 1953 in Nome, Alaska to John Sr. and Theresa Penetac, both deceased.
She was married to Warren Donald Lake in 1971 to 1979; deceased in 2017. Her longtime partner was Neil Scott Wagner 1979-2008, deceased in 2021.
When she lived in Nome, she loved spending time with her family and walking at the beach on beautiful hot sunny days collecting beach glass and rocks.
She moved to Eagle River May 2019, she loved spending quality time with some of her children and grandchildren. Her favorite quote to her children and grandchildren is “Hugs hugs! Kiss kiss! I love you bigger than the moon, bigger than the world. Bigger than the galaxy, I love you bigger than the Universe! And to the moon and back.”
Her finally wish was to have all her children with her, she was so happy to have all her children with her before she had passed away.
Also surviving are her two daughters and three sons Sheila Lake and Stanley Milligrock, Theresa Lake, Warren “Donnie” Lake III , Eric S. Penetac and Nathan C. Wagner. Surviving brother and sister-in-law are Raymond & Sylvia Paniataaq, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Joe Kunnuk, sister Marie Merito.
Grandchildren are John Baker, Samantha Baker, Nicholas Baker, Vanessa Baker, Christian Baker, Christopher Lake, Brianna Gallicchio, Jacob Lake, Hailey McKnight, Ravin Riggs, Hunter Herndon, Taylor Herndon, Addison Lake and Alexis Penetac.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Stanislaus Penetac, John Penetac Jr., Anthony (Tony) Penetac, sisters Barbara Douglas, Winifred Penetac and Florence O’Neal.
We'll be having a memorial service in Teller, AK at the end of June 2021. Then following after the service we will be spreading some of our mother's ashes as her wishes to be spread in Teller, Nome, Anchorage and Homer as her final resting places.
