Jeannette G. Pete (Aliiraq)

February 27, 1935 – July 22, 2019

Jeannette C. Pete was born to Qaatuuwaq and Ataanaq Steve at Akuluraq on February 27, 1935.  She married George G. Pete on March 17, 1952.  They had adopted two children.  She left us to be with the Lord on July 22, 2019.

Jeannette enjoyed being with her family.  Jeannette and George had traveled with the seasons around Stebbins and Yukon River Delta Area; trapping commercial and subsistence fishing, berry picking, gathering wood, most of all was camping with nephews, nieces and grandchildren.  She taught her nieces how to sew, care and store food away for the winter.  She lived a long life and was a hard worker for her family.

She had spent her time in Quyana Care at Nome, Alaska.  There, she was well liked, friendly, adorable, and a wonderful lady.  She loved to play cards, crochet, word search and puzzles.

Jeannette is survived by her son James Pete, grandkids Cedric, Cyrus, Judy, Frederick, Allison and Alma Mae.  Son-in-law Hubert Amgiak, grandkids Conor, Chase, many relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, grandkids and great grand kids.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents Qaatuuwaq and Ataanaq Steve, husband George G. Pete, daughter Mary C. (Pete) Angiak; siblings Louie Steve, Cecilia Foxie, Theresa (Steve) Jack, and many other relatives.

The family of Jeannette would like to express their gratitude to everyone who helped and donated.  Quyana Caknek.
