Arthur Gene Beltz
Arthur G. Beltz was born on December 31, 1946 in Anchorage, Alaska at the old Providence Hospital on 9th and L Street to Harry L. Beltz and Lucy (Bourdon) Beltz Anderson. Arthur was the brother of William E., Johnnie, Tom, Bertram, Laura (Wright) and Hazel (Moneymaker) Beltz; aunts and uncles Ethel Bourdon (Mogg), Ina Bourdon (Watson), David, Wilson, Frederick and Betty Bourdon. He passed on December 27, 2022 just shy of his 76th birthday.
Arthur graduated from East High school, enlisted in the U.S. Navy completing a four-year tour in Vietnam from 1965 to 1969. He was an aircraft fueler on the USS Kitty Hawk and the USS Wasp during his time in the Navy. Over the years, Arthur worked as an aircraft fueler in Cold Bay and Shemya. He also worked for the City of Anchorage as a refuse collector in the 1970s.
Anyone who got to know Arthur, knew he had a mischievous sense of humor and was quite the practical joker. All his younger siblings, nieces, and nephews never escaped his teasing. He loved children who always brought a smile to his face. He was an avid reader of history and war stories. He was a minimalist but had an eye for quality.
Arthur is survived by six siblings: Don, Dorothy (Van Thiel), John Paul, Harvey, Jaimie and Becky (Czyz).
He is preceded in death by siblings Mary (Cook), Neil, Glen, Michael and Theresa.
He spent the past six years in All About Care, Inc. Assisted Living Home. Arthur and his sense of humor will be missed and will forever be in our hearts.
Burial will take place in spring 2023 at Fort Richardson (Alaska) Cemetery.
