Ernest “Ernie” Frankson
Ernest “Ernie” Robert Oviak Agviqsina Uvigaq Frankson, age 70, of Spencer, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at IU Bloomington Hospice House. He was born in Point Hope, Alaska on April 8, 1946, the son of Teddy, Sr. and Dolly (Webber) Frankson.
Ernie is survived by his wife Lanette L. Frankson, his children Billy, Jonathan, Umigluk, Antonio, Wesley, Benjamin, Akuilaq, Ugruum, Joy, Aviq, Larissa and Nathaniel (raised by Ernie).
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his siblings Peter, Ben, Sr. (Peggy), Jimmie, Sr. (Sue), Jace, Dinah (Sayers, Sr.), Kristi, Violet (Larry), Barbara (JJ), Dolly (Charlie), Lizzie, Minnie (Leonard), and Annie, and his step-mother Annie Frankson.
He is preceded in death by his biological parents, his grandparents who adopted and raised him, David “Aapa” and Dinah “Aaka” Frankson; his children Matthew and Phillip, and his siblings, Teddy II, Donna Mae, Jerry, Doc and Gordon.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2016 at All Saints Episcopalian Church in Anchorage, Alaska. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church. Burial will follow in Point Hope, Alaska. Arrangements are with West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer, IN and Legacy Funeral Home Heritage Chapel in Anchorage.
